IVF Outcomes

Methods of in vitro fertilization (IVF) have advanced dramatically since the first IVF baby was born in 1978. Originally yielding single-digit success rates, IVF is now successful in nearly 50% of cases in which the woman is younger than 35 years.

With over 8 million babies born to date via IVF, that means over 8 million unsuccessful attempts and poor outcomes. With 1 in 3 couples discontinuing IVF before a live birth, that means over 10 million babies and families who could have used better outcomes.
